American Idol announced the winner of its 23rd season, with host Ryan Seacrest revealing the results following performances by finalists John Foster, Breanna Nix, and Jamal Roberts alongside prominent celebrities.
A new champion of American Idol is emerging into the limelight. Host Ryan Seacrest declared Jamal Roberts as the season 23 winner during the finale on May 18, with judges Carrie Underwood, Lionel Richie, and Luke Bryan expressing their support. To secure the title, Roberts outperformed finalist John Foster and Breanna Nix, who was eliminated earlier in the evening. Prior to the finale, which showcased performances from Foster, Nix, Roberts, Good Charlotte, Jessica Simpson, Jelly Roll, and Patti LaBelle, Underwood—who claimed the Idol title in 2005—shared a piece of advice with the top three contestants.
Following the broadcast of Roberts' audition in early March, the native of Meridian, Mississippi, quickly gained popularity among fans due to his stylish, tailored suits and impressive vocal abilities, which span from Disney songs to R&B classics. Consequently, did the father of three daughters emerge as the next 'American Idol'? Indeed! Jamal Roberts has been declared the WINNER of 'American Idol' season 23!
